Mp3Activation.exe no longer works

I paid for and downloaded the MP3 encoder for MC4.2.2 a few years ago. I was even able to reinstall it on my new Win 7 computer and it worked great for months. Now, all of a sudden I get the following error when I try to export audio in MP3 “The MP3 encoder must be unlocked before use. Please visit http://cakewalk.com to upgrade a previous encoder, or to purchase a new encoder“. I tested and WAV exports still work. I tried to reboot my system and even reinstalled “Mp3Activation.exe”.

OS: Windows 7 64bit
CPU: Xeon 2GHz Quad Core
Hard drives: (2) 1TB and 500GB SATA 7200
RAM Memory: 4GB
Sound Card: Delta 44
Music Creator 4
Mackie 802VLZ-3 Mixer

    So, did you visit Cakewalk.com? You'll probably have to email Support. But maybe it's not supported for Win 7/64, which would be a bummer.

    no, they've had to put out a "patch" for 64bit. 

    I can't find a thread which offers help.  I think you'll have to email tech support for the new 64bit version.

    After I loaded Win 7 64bit it worked. I wonder if that was just because I was given X number of free MP3 exports after the install.

    X number of days.  after fresh windows install then MC install you have 30 days before it needs to be activated.

    as long as they can verify that you've paid for the encoder before they'll send you a link to download the 64bit version.
