Altiverb

I was hoping the X1b patch would fix this, but any idea if Cakewalk knows Altiverb doesn't work properly with Sonar X1?  You receive clicks and pops in the bounced track.

Are you running the 64Bit version of Sonar?

If so, I believe the Altiverb plugin dll is 32Bit code (meaning it has to be bridged to work in a 64Bit host)... and that's likely where the trouble lies.
Try bridging the Altiverb dll using jBridge (3rd party bridging application).

    Hi.
The same happens to me with ArtsAcoustic Reverb even though it is suppose to work in both 32bit and 64bit modes.
Have you tried Altiverb on another host?

I've tried it in both the 64 bit and 32 bit version of SONAR X1b running Win7 64.

I know for a fact it worked in SONAR 5 :)  But I'm unable to test any other host, as I don't have them.

The official Audioease word is that Altiverb 6 is not supported running in a 64 bit host on a 64 bit OS. It doesn't matter what host or what OS. Some people may tell you otherwise, but I can guarantee you they will get digital noise. Maybe they aren't listening for it, or their gain is so high, they're running right over it. If you do something like change tempo mapping, playback will stop altogether. According to Audioease, A6 will run in 32 bit SONAR (8.5 or X1) on Windows 7 64 bit (not on earlier Windows versions). I am doing this successfully in my studio. I don't know if anyone in this forum would care, but I'm also running successfully in Cubase 6.

When A7 is released, it is advertised to run in a 64 bit host on 64 bit Windows 7. There are no plans to make it backward compatible with earlier Windows versions. If you have XP or Vista, you will just have to upgrade to W7. Audioease will not publish any release scheduling. They have been working on this project for three years and have only been able to show the proof of concept version at 2010 NAMM. As you may imagine, there is no shortage of griping over in the Altiverb forum. The fact is they aren't yet in beta, so its going to be a long while yet.
