Important SONAR Plus Update (23rd March) - Update Now Available for Download

An update has been released to address this issue (version 1.0.0.8):

http://www.sonarplus.co.uk/pages/downloads.aspx

Please uninstall older versions and install this one instead.

Please be aware that a problem was discovered with SONAR Plus earlier today that can cause SONAR X1b to crash. Thanks to Keni for bringing this to my attention.

Basically, if Plus is running and you open a VST instrument and then open the PRV, SONAR crashes in some circumstances.

I have already fixed the problem, and the new version is currently being tested. In the meantime, I recommend not using SONAR Plus until the update is released.

If you've been having problems with X1b, please make sure that SONAR Plus is not the cause before reporting it to Cakewalk Support, or posting about it here.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this has caused. Expect the update later today.

Thanks,
Ben

Thanks guys. I'm conscious of pushing too many updates out. Don't want to give people 'update fatigue', or make them lose confidence in Plus. I just like to get important things fixed ASAP, instead of accumulating lots of bug reports and issuing a single, big update.

    Thanks Ben... On all counts!

I for one will never be upset at getting too many updates... If something needs repair, I'd rather get it sooner than later as updating is not typically very involved...

big updates leave room for more bugs!

Not to worry, Ben.  I wish CW had your attitude.  More updates to resolve one or two issues rather than less frequent updates to resolve multitudes of problems.  I look forward to your latest.

I've uploaded a new update to address this important issue:

    http://www.sonarplus.co.uk/pages/downloads.aspx

Please uninstall older versions of SONAR Plus and install this one instead. Bit of a pain, but it should only take a minute or two.

    Here's what's new:
    • Fixed problem with PRV menu note length buttons that could cause SONAR to crash.
    • Fixed problem with PRV menu note length buttons that caused the buttons to appear in Markers View.
    • Fixed problem with separate snap settings not working if Markers view is open.
    • Full support for German, Italian, French and Spanish versions of SONAR. No more layout issues with view menu buttons.
    • Increased SONAR startup timeout to reduce 'SONAR window not found errors' if SONAR takes a long time to start.
    • Added option to auto toggle snap to/snap by mode when switching between the PRV and other views.
    • Removed Staff View menu note length buttons due to known SONAR bug causing them not to work. Will need another SONAR update before they can be reinstated. Click here for more information.

Just a little bump to make sure all those using SONAR Plus are aware that an important update is available. It fixes an issue that could cause SONAR X1b to crash in some circumstances, so please update if you haven't already:

    http://www.sonarplus.co.uk/pages/downloads.aspx

    Thanks,
    Ben

Edit: It also adds full support for French, German, Italian and Spanish versions of SONAR + some other minor bug fixes.

If they aren't using it.... They probably soon will be!

Maybe you guys have opened the door to some new products along the lines of plugins and the likes.... 3rd Party apps to enhance major applications...

It seems to happen to all evolving software at some point so maybe this is where it begins for Sonar?!?

Many Thanks... Between You and Panu, I'm finding X1 to be far more comfortable.... Tho it's still got a way to go until it catches up with 8.5.3 let alone surpasses it!

Sometimes when I'm enjoying a new X1 feature I forget that it's different and feel as tho I'm back in 8.5.3 with some more fixes.... Many of the shortcuts are very welcome... Too bad they didn't remember the old rule of not throwing out the baby out with the old water.... ;-)

Hah! I say throw the baby out and keep the bath water!

But maybe that's because I've had two kids.

    2kids?

I'd think you'd be tired of the water by now too! ;-)
