Anyone using one of these ? I want it for my laptop, what firewire card should I get ? I have one of those new lappys with the smaller expresscard slot.

They have the new scarlet ones coming out but for the price I think the Saffire 6 will work fine for what I need. Thanks for the input.

Hey Frank I had nothing but trouble with the Konnekt 6 on my PC. I even installed a dedicated TI chip Firewire Card to try to get it working right.... I tried several other suggestions and recommendations I could find to get it running smoothly.... and still no luck. I ended up with the Saffire 6 USB and found glory! Good luck with your choice!.... and enjoy!

Frank, sorry, I had my computer die and have got a new "home" one finally. Just after I got an Android Pad, but it is too hard to type to answer. The TC family is good. Great sound, good preamps and the desktop remote on the 48 is not only cool but useful. The 6's only controls the volume, but is still cool. As to the drivers, they are sussed out now (and have been for over a year). I would check on the forums - some people were still having issues with 64 bit but that was a while ago. They still not the lowest latency, but for remote recording I wouldn't think that is much of an issue. The TC family is good bang for buck, soundwise, esp. and the 6 was about $200. Good value there. later, @
