After exporting a mixdown - project wont open

Hi all
 
Hope someone can help me
Using Producer 8.5.3 (abo0ut to upgrade to XI)  - issue is that after working in a project save it (and have 'version' saves set)  - I do an export mixdown so can burn a cd and listen to make adjustments - all good till there
 
When I go back in to try and open the project to work on again it just hangs ad doesnt open
 
Have tried emptying picture cache, deleting the last back up version (through explorer and trying again etc - no avail - and because it doesnt open I cant get back to a previous version- I dont really want to keep going back to raw files and doing it again
 
Any help appreciated

    Did you try to open it in safe mode?

    Wow, I recentlly aquiered A similar problem....

    After Export the Project wont open again...

    Win 7 SP1, Sonar X1....

    Hold the shift key when opening the project.

    You probably have a bad plug-in. Using any freebies? 

    Are you saving as CWP or CWB?
