Flatline track but still has sound?

So after recording a guitar solo to a track I see the wave file box but there is no wave form to be found inside the box. THe track isnt shrunk or anything but theres no wave form to see. I can still hear the guitar solo just fine but if this was a vocal track I would be screwed. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Im I just a noob that hit some damn button and I just need to hit it again to bring it back? DOes X1b make anyone else feel like a NOOB?

Clear out the picture cache and it should re-draw the wave form.

Find the location of the Picture Cache. (In the options, Files, Audio Data, Picture Cache). Close Sonar, delete all the files in that directory. Sonar will automatically recreate all the picture data when you reopen a project.

    Hey Big,
I can confirm this is the way to do it because I had an old project that had a flatline forever and just deleted the .WOVs and X1 rebuilt them....my question is what the heck are .WTRs (in the same folder)?
    Thanks,
    Randy

Great it worked of course! Thanks guys. But yea, the why and what are still worthy of an answer! Why does this happen and what are those .WOV files?

wov files are the pictures of the waveform. It's a graphic snapshot of the wave file.

Jason - just for your information, the waveform you see in your clips isn't actually the waveform itself - it's simply a pictorial representation of it.

When the picture cache gets bigger than it's allotted size, Sonar can't draw any more so you have to clear them out periodically. It SHOULD of course clear out older ones to make way for newer ones, but this is a bit hit & miss.
