Just finished a session- need a little help/advise....

We were trying to create rx2 files by groove clip looping a sample of music and then dragging it into the RXP.
That doesn't work apparently.

What is the best way to chop up a beat or sample into individual samples and quickly map them to a midi instrument the way RXP does with the included rx2 files.?

Or is there a way to make rx2 files.???  Other than buying recycle.

SECONDLY,
I used to use the dr008 to quickly drag audio to midi mapped locations so as to trigger and play them back dontcha know.
What plugin do you recommend for this task?  A simple sampler that i can drag audio right out of the TV onto.

I just need this to be fast and easy.   I'm not looking to get "in deep" with sampling.

Thank you!

You can drag the hits to Session Drummer but there's no mapping of a groove out the keyboard like Recycle.

Phatmatik Pro is still, surprisingly, the best way to do this. At least in SONAR.

i did use session drummer for drag/drop samples, but the mapping is weird and u can onlly load 8 or so samples.
i will check out phatmatic pro.  thanks for the tp.

also, on an embarassing note:  i have komplete 5 including kontact.  i like batteru but it didnt seem to have drag and drop ability.  kontact hasnt even been opened yet.  maybe i should check it out :)

as far as the sfz goes, i use it occasionally for soundfonts, but i cant drag audio to it, can i?

Kontakt works great for what you're talking about. I've actually started using the Sonar timeline plus Kontakt as a sample creation platform. Record into Sonar, set your loop points, apply trimming, drag clip to Kontak mapping editor. Very cool.

Jeebus, if you've got Kontakt you're golden! Hit up Youtube for some tutorials and get slicing.
