Project files should be saved to which drive?

Hello.

I was wondering what drive the project files should be saved to?

I have upgraded and have Drives C, D, E, and F.

Its set-up like this:
- C drive: OS, Programs
- D drive: Media, Projects
- E drive: Pagefile, Media Cache
- F drive: Previews, Export

I am unsure where to put the project files for any program I am using. Currently (I started to make a beat today) I am putting the exported project wav files of sounds onto E drive and putting them into the DAW tracks.

The .mid or .midi files are going onto the D drive, I am unsure if I should do this.

I don't know where to put project files though. C drive?, D drive? E drive? I am thinking D drive, since I am working off of there.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

D: drive looks good to me. I save the project files on the same drive as the audio.

Yep, D sounds like your best option.

It's also a very good idea to have your sample libraries on a different drive to your audio & project files - anywhere but this and the system drive is good.

Bristol_Jonesy, do you think the D drive by any chance?

    Gotta love this forum software.

In answer to the OP D is good, the reason being keeping your audio files on a separate drive to your OS is always good and if you use "per project audio folders" your audio files will be on the same drive as your projects. If you don't you can specify where your audio is kept and that's the important bit.
