MIDI Tracks Showing Inline PRV Grid with Edit Filter Set to Clips

Anybody else seen this?

This used to happen in 8.5 and earlier versions, too, that SONAR would forget the status of PRV mode buttons in a saved project, and show PRV mode enabled for all tracks on re-opening the project when it was last saved with them disabled.

It appears the Edit Filter model has not had an effect on this old bug - like they just moved the toggle for the enable flag into the Edit Filter drop-down.

Toggling the Edit Filter to Notes and back to Clips resets it.

EDIT - I closed and re-opened the project without saving after disabling PRV mode on just one track, and it came back up with PRV mode off on all tracks.

I haven't seen this one YET, Dave.   But you know how that goes ;)

I've been working in X1B for days now, very intensely -- so is there some other condition that must be met for it to happen?   That is - what state was the project in before and after - or whatever?

I'll see if I can repro.

BTW, what exactly do you mean by "PRV MODE" ?
I THINK you mean the track comes up in the INLINE PRV mode as opposed to not?

PRV Mode = Inline PRV enbled on a track in the TV. The Reference Guide uses these terms interchangeably, I believe, though that my have changed with X1.

I've never seen a pattern. I hadn't even used PRV mode in X1 yet, and was just opening  a project that I use like a template file. It's all set up with tracks to record and echo MIDI and Audio from keyboards and hardware synths, but is otherwise empty. The advantage of using a standard CWP file instead of a TPL is that I don't have to name it unless I decide to keep something. Then I just use Save As to create a new project.

So there aren't even any MIDI events to show, but the track pane showed the PRV grids on all the MIDI tracks on first opening it.

If you search, you'll find other threads about this going back several versions.

Interesting.  I haven't seen that particular one -- but maybe this is related.

In the separator bar (where the mute/solo for layers and the db readout is when a track is stretched)  - if you right click you get a menu which has "Notes / 7 bit values" and other menu items.

I have seen X1/a/b come up with the "7 bit value" (which I NEVER use) as opposed to the note value.

So in trying to repro you bug, I notice that if I changed the Edit Filter to "Notes"  on SOME tracks the menu items (ie, "Notes / 7 Bit") get greyed out.  BUT not on every track.

This is just MIDI tracks I'm trying, btw.

So it looks like there's some gunk going on there for sure.
