Just finished 2nd project in X1B, working great!

I hate to sound like a broken record, but it seems worth saying:

I just finished my second project in X1b and I had no problems whatsoever. No crashes. And can't say I ran into any bugs. Except for one time that PC was acting a little funny.

I just finished my second audio-for-video project with X1b. Super-tight deadlines, but everything worked as expected with one exception: You can't set loops shorter than eighth notes. Not a deal breaker, but sometimes I need really short short loops when trying to slice files - I loop a transient to see if there are other internal transients I'm missing.

I'm finding that some of things I thought were bugs were actually due to unfamiliarity with X1b. I think there's a misconception that X1 is pretty much 8.5 with a different UI, but there are many more changes under the hood than that.

Oh, one pleasant surprise: AudioSnap's Split Beats into Clips is working great. I've been able to slow 125BPM loops down to 80BPM with perfect fidelity. Nice. This technique will be the topic of my August "Sonar workshop" column for Sound on Sound.

good deal..i feel like x1 is getting a bd rap in some cases by the users.and it is true there are some more issues but for the life of me im not experiencing them.this forum had me scared to death to upgrade the x1b patch..i did it earlier tonight with amazing results..i was grooving before..now my gui is much more fluent,,very smooth..some midi synch issues i personaly had but caould work around are gone.and i just got done using autosnap like it should be..im so impressed.i just hate it when another user reads this and gets disgusted by my posts cause their having problems.the tention in here lately is getting thick.im not sure its as much as the bugs as it is their sonar has changed and they dont like it.its nothing like 8.5. and some people dont like change.

If you use UAD plug ins, it's a painful experience. Something broke from X1a with the hotfix to now.

    Gear: A bunch of stuff.
