using multiple step sequencers

Is it possible to use multiple instances step sequencer with Session Drummer 3?

The reason I ask this  is, I am recreating an older song of mine, that used groove clips. I am trying to use session drummer 3, for the drums, by using the sequencer.

     the drum part starts off with a fill, then goes into a drum pattern.

Then there are basically two other "patterns' during the song.  I don't want to have to program the entire song in seq, with one instance of it.

  When I try to do it, I insert the 2nd instance, it does not work for me. Do I need to create one part then bounce it to a clip first?

    I am not sure. My first thought would be to have two MIDI tracks eack with step sequencer inserted, but then they would both sound at the same time?? A am not near my DAW so i can't check.

    What about Matrix view? I have never used it but I beleive you can put MIDI clips in its cells and trigger them at the appropriate time in your song.

    never used the matrix, I watched a video on it, but not really wanting to go there right now..lol

    I am thinking with ss, you have to bounce to clip first before you start a new ss instance. But I don't know for sure.. will try it later today to see.

    Yes, you can. Somewhere there has to be a video by Seth P - he has a standard demo that really shows off what the step sequencer can do. I've seen the demo on several occasions, each time being impressed with how much is possible that I've never tapped.

    hey bitflipper, I have seen the drum series that seth did, but he only used the one. When I try to bring up another one, it changes the one that is already up, even though I have my curser in a different spot...

    (edited) Ok, I figured out what I was doing.. whew... that makes drum programming so much easier..lol

    Although I was copying what the original mp3 had for drums, it was still easy... hearing where the drums landed and all in the ss.

    In the demo I'm thinking of, Seth used multiple instances of the Step Sequencer. One of them drove a bass line rather than drums. Each of the others handled different sections of the song.
