X1B - Fantastic
Cakewalk has some compelling marketing. I've been itching to pull the trigger on X1 since December, but according to all those I choose to believe on this board who took the early plunge, the upgrade hasn't been perfect. The ads for X1 make it sound like just what I was hoping for: a major reorganization of the interface: a move forward from the Windows mother/child MDI, consolidation of the menus, along with the contextually aware tools. In short, the features that other major software players are bringing to their products. Well I'm finally rolling on X1B and it's working great. The new features are fantastic. It has loaded up my 8.5.3 projects flawlessly, imported all of my control surface settings and is out of the gate impressively. Obviously it's early yet, but more so this wouldn't be possible without the early adopters sharing their experiences everyday on this board. Nor would it be possible without Cakewalk doing their best to answer the issues. A sincere thanks to those who took the hit and provided the feedback that paved the way and made things so much better for the rest of us. (PS. Likewise: To hell with all you self absorbed whiners. You who complain endlessly without trying to help yourselves, without any thought or regard for anyone else. You dominate the discussions with your endless, mindless complaints of a pea under the 17th mattress down. )

Just wanna say that I'm happy with X1b too - sure, there are still a few "quirks", but I haven't had a crash yet (I couldn't say that with X1, and X1a was marginally better). Together with Panup's mods and Benstat's buttoniser, X1b's great. Can I join >The Happy Thread< now ?

Correct me if I am wrong.
