DXI plugin not showing up, please help!

Hey all,
I am setting up Sonar 8.5.3PE on my new PC but having some issues. I am trying to install Battery3 and use it as a DXI. My previous project I was working on with my old comp, battery 3 was installed and used as a DXI. During the install, I made sure DXI and VST were selected, as this is my 3rd time installing this.  Even with that install option selected, there is no NI Battery 3 plugin in my DXI section of my plug in layout manager...which explains the error when I am trying to use the soft synth and it comes up "Failed to insert soft synth. The synth may not be properly installed"  Which is true.. It's not properly installed because its not showing up in the plugin manager.. And I have no idea why

As I said before.. I have to use Battery 3 as a DXI soft synth since that's how my project is set. Without it being there, I can't keep my settings.  I am running Win 7 x64, and yes..I have done all the recommendations about running as administratror, and copying the files from the program files x86 directory to the x64 .   I have no idea what the hell is going on here.

Please help..

Thank you!

Are you using the 64 or 32 bit version of Sonar?

I suspect that the DXI version of battery is 32 bit only. 32 bit DXI plugings will not run in a 64 bit host, so the solution will be to use the VST version of Battery.

There is a rather involved way of running a 32 bit DXI in 64 bit Sonar, but it involves both a DXI wrapper and bitbridge. As VST versions of Battery are available it would not be worth the effort and stability risks.

If it is imperative you use the DXI version for some reason, try installing the 32 bit version of Sonar (64 and 32 bit versions can co-exist). You should find the DXI versions will work in the 32 bit version.

Ok, I'll give that a try.  Do I need to install from scratch and add all the patches for the 32bit?

Yes, I think you do, I have not done it myself so i can't point you at any particular steps of things to watch out for but many people do run both versions.

Do you still have your old computer with Sonar and Battery installed?  If so, then save the Battery kit (and the drum map too).  You can then easily add the Battery VSTi to the project and load the same kit with all the same settings.
