Selecting Clip Gain Automation for a single clip?!?
Is this now as intended? I don't want to bleieve so... If it's a known bug, someone please let me know or I will be reporting it... I select a single clip, I use the stupid Edit Filter and select clip automation|gain Result? A clip envelope is drawn in every clip on the same track! I can delete each of the unwanted envelopes... Then when I switch to clip (I do NOT like this Edit Filter!!!) The clip enveolpes disappear... So I again select clip automation|Gain and they appear in all clips once again... but the clips that I had adjusted and wanted are where I had adjusted and left them.... What a MESS!!! I hope this is a bug.... <sigh>... Keni

I LOVE THIS feature, but it only leaves the clip envelope on the clips that you actually edit edit, so if you want a clip envelope on only 1 clip, just edit that clip's envelope, and the rest will disappear.

OK... I'll see where this leads... I'm seeing that it's the color issue why I'm not seeing the envelope on return to clip (instead of envelope) as it's so close to black that it's invisible on top of black audio! thanks for the explanation... I've reported it as a bug anyway! ;-)

Tho the envelope selecting feature may or may not bo 'good' time will tell, but right now I don't like it! Now I have to mouse over every envelope to see if any are active whereas before I knew if there were none, they were not active! Minus 10 points there ...and to make matters worse the color issue has made them totally invisible in more instances... If on top of black audio or if the clip is highlighted, they disappear! Bad!!! I just confronted this today as well. Definitely several steps backwards.

stoutlyric I just confronted this today as well. Definitely several steps backwards. ...and doesn't appear to be changing. X2 is the same. It appears that when you enable an envelope, it's for the track, even tho it's only affecting the clip(s) you adjust... Same thing happens with Audiosnap.... and once it's activated, it continues to demand 'something' even if no changes were made and AS is disabled for all clips... <sigh>... Keni

I hope this is a bug.... <sigh>... Keni This is exactly as intended! I'd be a LOT more concerned if the clips you had already adjusted had reverted to a default straight line after you've hidden them. You don't HAVE to work with the envelopes that are exposed by selecting clip gain automation and you are not gaining a single thing by deleting them - just leave them where they are. I think you're making this a lot more difficult for yourself than it really is

I think that the issue is the way it works is convoluted and strange and not easy. My biggest complaint is that once the envelope is ghosted again its hard to see since it is so dark and blended with the clip. If you don't want it ghosted then you have to leave the edit filter on and every clip has an envelope you wanted for one clip. It just seems counter intuitve. Also you can't edit the ghosted clip and you have to select it in the filter again.

As much as a really like X2 and automation in general, ghosted envelope color is one of my pet peeves.
