Right, headroom. Refers to the distance between clip peaks and the maximum numerical value allowed (for the project sample size). However, there is a way to scale the waveform display so that the wave takes up more vertical graphical space. Then it might appear clipped when it really isn't. In other words, the edge of the track doesn't always represent the min/max. If it sounds clipped, it is. But if not, it's worth checking the audio scaling of the track display.
