Anyone here using an Echo card?

Hi,

Returning to music production after a couple of years away, on a new set-up consisting of Sonar X1b on Windows 7 x64 using a Echo Gina3G sound card.

First problem, right out of the box, all my Echo inputs and outputs are named as such :

Analog in 1-2 [WaveRT]
Analog out 1-6 [WaveRT] 1/2
Analog out 1-6 [WaveRT] 3/4
Analog out 1-6 [WaveRT] 5/6

That's problem #1 - I don't remember ever seeing [WaveRT] in my device list before. Of course, this was 2 years ago and I was using Sonar 8. It's also possible my memory is simply playing tricks on me.

Problem #2 is that they're all unchecked. And checking any of them results in Sonar telling me these devices either do not support the current audio format, or are in use by another application.

But there's nothing unusual about the audio format. 24-bit / 44100 sampling rate.

Wave Profiling yields no different results.

I am using the latest drivers from Echo, and the sound works fine in Windows outside of Sonar X1.

Anyone know what's going on here?

For whatever reason, WDM was selected by default. Thanks. This fixed it.

Now if I could only find where they've moved the Synth Rack between Sonar 8 and Sonar X1 ;-)

I think you misunderstood me. I was saying you were right. ASIO was not selected. It is now, and that fixed everything. Thanks!

But I'm *still* looking for the damn synth rack... lol

It's so funny, this is my first time running Sonar X1 (last version was S8) so I went to the help files to locate the synth rack, and here's what it says :

To open the Synth Rack, open the Browser and click the Synth button [microscopic icon of a synth].

My screen res is 1920 x 1200, and there's a thousand buttons everywhere. It's so funny I started laughing. How the heck am I supposed to find this icon in all of this? I know exactly what to look for and I STILL can't find it... sensory overload, too many gizmos everywhere!
