Best Way to Publish to the Web?

OK, folks, I know that, like everything else around here, there will be at least 10 different, mostly very good possible answers to this.  But I'm stumped here.  In the past, I have uploaded MP3s to my website using MS Frontpage and this has worked well.  Apparently, Sonar X1 Producer doesn't come with the ability to bounce tracks or convert wave files to MP3.  Hard to believe!  I tried one of the suggestions made here on another thread, "Aaron's Sonar MP3 Patch", and that won't work either.  Did they build X1 so that it WOULDN'T allow other converters to work here.  Do I need to plop down $20 to get this squared away, try another converter option, or simply abandon MP3s in favor of something else?  Please help.  Why does this have to be so gd complicated simply trying to "publish" your material after you've worked for a week putting something together?

Please enlighten the dumb.  Thank you.

I had the same issue with the MP3 encoder.  Purchasing and running X1 Producer would have expected a free MP3 encoder, alas, my expectations were a tad high.  I couldn't get the LAME or any other 3rd party encoder to work.  I got the Sonar one, and poof!  Works fine.  After spending $400, what's another $19...

Download the free Lame enocoder.  Then do a search on the Producer forum for the many threads on how to install and operate Lame with Sonar.  There's a tutorial here for example:
    http://www.thirdtake.com/2007/11/15/sonar-mp3-encoding-with-lame/
You can upload the MP3 to your web  site putting a link to the MP3 in FrontPage.  Alternativey, check out Soundcloud.com which is a handy way of putting music on the internet.

+1 to that.  This is the exact same thing I do.  Only I export to 96/24 and convert to mp3 from there in Goldwave.

OK, thanks for all the input.  I dropped the $19 for the Cakewalk MP3 encoder.  Works fine.  Now, the question becomes, what's the BEST way to publish to the web?  I've got to say that once this is bounced to MP3, it loses a lot of its contour and robustness.

Any more help or suggestions?  X1 is awesome, btw.

Perfect, folks.  Thanks for the Soundcloud tip.  That is exactly as I needed.  No need to convert to MP3 with this site.  They took the full wave sound with no problem.

If anyone's interested, this is the first song I produced in X1...cleverly titled "Ballad in G"....it is to be the first in a series of tunes to be released weekly, hopefully.

    It's a 1st draft.

Is there a place here on the Cakewalk boards to post new music for feedback?  Thanks.

I always just used Soundforge, lol.  Course that's probably a bit pricier.
