Observations and Musings
I often see folks on here comparing ProTools to Sonar, etc. Stability issues with either. It struck me the other day , while reading a few posts, that a lot of people apparently still use their computer to surf the web as well as record songs. After recording in Nashville for the last 25yrs of so, I can safely say that not one studio I've worked in which uses PT or any other DAW for that matter has the recording computer hooked up to the internet for surfing between of during takes. Can't help but wonder if a lot of the problems with Sonar aren't related somehow. If you need to surf the web, laptops are cheap.
Also, as far as stability is concerned, I can not count the times while recording that the Mac w/PT would crap out and have to be re-booted during sessions whilst the players, artist, producer are all looking at their watches and struggling to retain the energy and inspiration for the song to be recorded.
So...It ain't just us Sonar peeps, it's the digital age, and we all must bear it!! Still hoping Sonar can get this X1 right though. I like it!!
