We always had one of those around when I was a kid. We called it a 'hot water bottle', used to soothe aches and pains when filled with hot water. I never knew it's true purpose.

If hazy memories from my collegiate days are accurate, they're also quite handy for mischief at football games. Something to do with colored water. Assuming that my memory's working right.
