Recently disabled onboard sound added a card now i cant seem to record live midi???

I dont know if this is a common problem as  i havent used sonar in 5 years im running x1 x64 on a soundblaster audigy sound card i recently disabled my onboard and figured i would have better sound and less latency issues. Now the only problem is when i open the cakewalk sound center and play a piano i can hear it along with my audio tracks but when i try and record everything and play live piano nothing i play is recorded just the premade audio tracks idk if i have to tell sonar soundblaster is the midi input/output and not the other onboard sound i dont really know any ideas would be helpfull sorry if this has already been awnsered 50 times i havent found nothing on it myself

Ok sorry for the confusion i think i know what is going on. Idk how but seems like after i installed sonar and ran it on the onboard everything was recording i dont believe i changed any setting it just worked. Anyways i found an option when u create a new project there are some options for that project. The one u want to check is allow midi output then bingo u should beable to record live midi as u play virtual instruments or real.

However when i create a new project now i dont see the options window where the project settings were its not coming up now??? what if there is another option i need 2 change later how do i bring up project settings again

Are you using a USB keyboard? Your description is unclear to say the least.

How have you set up the Sound Center? What are the tracks and their ins/outs?
Have you done the tutorials about using soft synths?
What SONAR X1 version are you using - Essential?

"Allow MIDI output" has got nothing to do with recording MIDI, allthough I don't understand what you mean by recording "live MIDI". Allowing MIDI output is used for example to launch the keyboard sounds with the recorded MIDI.

This is already your second thread but you still haven't listed your gear and PC-specs. You have to help us to help you. We can't say anything if we don't know what you have and what you do with it.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
