Arpeggiator Patterns

I see the Arpeggiator Patterns folder has ARP files. I assume it is for the MIDI Arpeggiator plugin, but the mystery to me is where should this folder go - or can it go anywhere and when the plugin is used you can somehow tell it where to find it?

A little confusing -- if you "see" it and it's working, why wonder where it goes?
In any case, it goes in Cakewalk Projects/SONAR X1 Producer/Arpeggiator Patterns/...   then there is a subfolder structure for Rhythms(with further subfolders) or Shapes.  And no, you can't specify the .arp file locations inside the program.

Hmmm. I have re-structured where all my folders go and this one became an orphan. I haven't tried it yet as I am still setting up and just wanted to avoid chasing ghosts and other wicked demons. I do have a Cakewalk Projects folder but inside there is just more meaningful (to me) folder names as part of the re-structuring and in this case it would not go there because only things that will be created, modified or deleted go in to my Cakewalk Projects folder.
