My X1 update Info VS Operating System info

Just incase this is helpfull to anybody
But since I started useing Sonar 6 I have never had any sort of reliability with sonar, on XP/XP64/Vista64
Like you do after spending a large amount of money on a DAW you have to stick with it.
I got X1 Hoping On good things, i was using Vista 64, and It was unusable full stop as well as the many Graphics issues Visable from the offset, The firsrt patch came  and i could just about Explore X1 without crashing as much and slight improvemnet on Graphics issues.
Then the 1b Update, and as usual it crashed etc, so really was the last Straw.
On one last Desperate attempt, The same went for my new OS,Windows 7 64x and only using x1 included instrument etc, not any third party at all,This time my sound Went pair shaped, it just distorted and crackled and Bummed out from the offset, But funny enough I tried Installing all as 32bit Software on windows 7 64x using all 64bit hardware drivers,
And After the First week Not a blemish, not a crack or a pop in my sound less the usual audio engine stops if i was editing while Song was playing, Useing many many Third party plugins and to my Amazement X1 is running Flawless for the first time ever although not as fast as it could be by comparision to my other Daws but all the same Very usable now, i hope this is not Premature lol.

Asus Quadcore, PB5 motherboard
8GB ram
Windows 7 64x Ultimate
Omega Lexicon Soundcard
all hardware 64bit drivers
all music software 32 bit .

are you running any softsynths or 3rd party plugins?  I had problems with X1 crashing on me but it was due to Kontakt not being updated.  8.5 was rock solid for me with the kontakt version I was running, but X1 did not.  once kontakt was updated I have not had a crash since.  this could be the case, however, for any plugin or softsynth.

Huh, am I missing something here?  You  say you were on XP64, Vista64, and now Win7-64, and you're only now using all 64 bit drivers (which have finally got you working correctly)?

You probably should have asked here earlier...

Glad you (finally) got it working.   You certainly showed a lot of patience figuring it out.

    I'm glad you'd found some stability/reliability

FWIW, If you're having major stability issues... across the board... there's got to be an underlying reason why.
When you mention total lack of stability (especially across multiple versions of Sonar), it leads me to suspect a culprit other than Sonar itself.
I'd first make sure the core hardware is running 100% solid/stable.  You need to test to be 100% sure.  In particular, test the RAM... then run a stress-test where you put the core hardware under constant heavy load.  If the machine can sustain that for 6-12 solid hours... you're good-to-go.

Aside from the computer, the audio interface is the next most critical choice.
Going with a proven rock-solid unit dramatically increases your odds of a trouble-free experience.

    Think from a "foundation" standpoint...
The more rock-solid the foundation... the better the odds of a success as you build "outward" including software and plugins.
