Got my ARC today
Took my measurments, I might end up taking them again though. My mixes really sound like Sh!t now. Like Danny suggested I think I need to make a grid. That and I need a new mix stand. Or maybe my mixes have always sounded like crap, lol. And now I can just hear it.

Yes Mike I saw that, and ty. I really didn't think my mixes sounded like crap, that's why the lol. (not that I'm saying they couldn't be better, cause there is always room for improvement. Hence the ARC. I know that the studio/office/cat room is not the best sounding place in the world. Lucky it's a decent size (old convereted garage/ About 11 feet wide, and at least 20-25 feet long (with a built in bookcase on the other side to break up reflections I hope) Anyway, Not the way the ARC is making them sound I think there is some operator error going on. I just eye balled all the measurments, and I'm sure I screwed it up. Lucky my wife is super good at this type of stuff, so I'm going to beg and plead till she helps. She owes me after all the times, I've helped pick up after her horses (literally)

I created a symmetrical template that you set on the floor and did the max number of sweeps/measurements with ARC and it definitely did the trick, my mixes sound SOOOO much better now and translate perfectly between both sets of studio monitors, pc speakers, car/truck speakers, headphones, jam box, stereo, tv speakers, everything! I used the chart in the manual as a starting point with the first mic placement in the center and the rest in symmetrical pairs except for the last mic placement point which was in the center again but further back. I focused all my mic placement points in the general area that I might move my head while sitting at my desk. I didn't ARC all extents of my room, just my listening area and for each set of monitors that I have so I can switch the curve when I switch the monitors.

I just followed the manual and extended out the 14 positions to 20. Danny said my curve was about a close as I can get it (all things considered). As you can see my room was messed up from 40-800Hz. NOt perfect but I can hear my mixes pretty good now. I too want to make a template so that I can remeasure (when I get more monitors).

I went with the KRK ERGO room correction. I have been pretty pleased with my mixes since using it. It was a toss up between the ARC and KRK, but I like the hardware based aspect of ERGO. JR
