Quantize

Hi All

After correctly selecting a track to quantize and verifying that using 'Selection Audition' I open the quantize dialogue box and go thru and set it the way I think it should be set. Then when I press audition it only plays back the first 6 beats and then repeats them over and over. Shouldn't it play the whole track so I can hear it before I apply quantize?

Any help much appreciated.

Wow! 'Selection Audition' (shift+space) was a new one to me!
Thanks for the unintentional tip! :)

I don't know, but I think you won't get it to play any longer than that.. :/

One thing you could try is maybe to insert the Quantize MIDI-plugin on the track instead.

The downer with that is that you can't .."finetune" the feel to the notes when it activated..
But it's nice if you just want the notes to get spot on. You can add some random things to the plugin to make it feel more human. But you don't have the control of where the human feel is applied.

Another way to go is just to click ok in the quantize window and listen after it's processed. You can always undo if you're not happy.

In Preferences under Audio/Playback and Recording it allows you to set the audition length in seconds. Maybe if you increase it you will get a longer audition? I looked for something similar under the MIDI sections but couldn't find any so hopefully this does the trick !?

Yep, Preferences > Audio - Playback and Recording. Adjust the Command Audition Length (seconds) from 1 to 25.
