Synth missing, except not (Dimension Pro)

Ok so five months after release, I found the updated-3/9/2011 page on how to deal with the fact that when Dimension Pro is updated in X1, it doesn't replace the original registration key you would have had in your registry if you'd been a long-time Cakewalk customer, so when you update to Dimension Pro 1.5 with X1, you can't get to the _05 X1 Extra Content file (it won't install because it doesn't know you've updated your Dimension Pro).  So now I have Dimension Pro 1.5 "properly" manually updated by me, with all the registry fixes..... and a project I had with DPro in it keeps giving me the "Missing Synth" error message upon startup, with a helpful link to an ad to buy Dimension Pro yet again.... except I already have Dimension Pro, it's found and plays fine in the project.

How do I fix this?

Tanks,
Steve

Steve if it's an older project it might be looking for the older Dx version of DimPro (1.2 I think?) which is no longer supported. You may have go to that track and delete the old version and re-insert the new version of Dim Pro. Others will know more.

My system had issues with the 32bit version of Dimension Pro. I run Win 7 64bit with X1b at 64bit. I also ran 8.5.3 at 64 bit and had the same problem.wouldn't run the 32bit version. It was easy to select the wrong version because it's not labeled as 32bit' only 64bit is labeled as such. I don't know if this will help but, if it does great !!

Larry, I tried deleting and re-inserting the synth (how, exactly, do I do that? I _think_ I did it right, but....), then re-saving the project, to no avail.

Any further assistance around the obvious appreciated. :)

I think I am having the same problem from the sound of it.  Until I get a better fix all I can do is make a new DimPro track... copy the MIDI from the old and paste it into the new one.  You just have to guestimate what instrument it was.  Luckily, I have 8.5 on an older machine so usually I can open earlier versions of songs and find out what instrument it was that way.

Also, if I do not have to edit that particular track, I just drag a wave in.

    Hope it helps.
