X1 user guide on Kindle hint...
I tried loading the PDF to my Kindle but the print isso small that way it is hard to read. I could make it larger but it would run off the screen and i'd have to page right to complete every line... that was not working. I downloaded a program called Calibre e-book manager. I used it to convert the PDF to a mobi file, then connected the Kindle to my computer, opened the documents folder in the Kindle and then drag/dropped the mobi file from the computer to the Kindle. It works much better now but forget the page numbers... If you do this just use "go to" on the Kindle and go to page 3000, that is where you'll want to start.... it is all table of contents before that. Julien

Easier for me to read laying in bed on the Kindle. If I read for too long on a computer screen I get a neckache/headache. Besides, can carry it everywherewith me now and read some of it as I have time where ever I am... I didn't like the PDF format on the Kindle, but I covered that in the OP. Anyway, it works for me. Thanks for asking... Julien

Thanks for asking... Julien I see, sure - I think of the manual as just something to refer to once in awhile during a session, I hadn't pictured reading it away from the studio. I get ya - And your post is informative, because I didn't realize before that PDFs could be imported into Kindle at all--I thought it read only its proprietary files. Nifty that you figured how to configure the PDF so it works. RB

My wife loves my ancient (circa 1950) Mickey Mouse marionette, and so I took a picture of it for my new avatar---We didn't realize how spooky it was going to look online, but hey, I'm liking the unintended quirkiness. Get out yer one eyed teddy. We could start a new avatar trend. Randy B.

Hmmm... I could use my "Peppy the Clown" coin-op marionette, circa 1956. Scary to some, but I love him!

Great idea !!! I've wondered how to convert those pdf's. Calibre eh......... I'm gonna try that out. Kindles are great but yeh the pdfs just don't fit. I thought about copying and pasting them into word to save as a text but that would be too fiddly so this calibre sounds the way to go. I am waiting for them to upgrade the big sized kindle so after buying it I can use it to view music sheets. Now that would be handy. All my songs stored and ready to go on the music stand.
