Can we dock "Markers view" on the left in skylight?
Hi there, Does anybody know if X1 is really "full-dockable" and "customizable"? I'm trying to dock the "Markers view" on the left side(as I had in previous versions of SONAR), but there's no-way. It only allows me to dock it at the bottom in the multi-dock section, or keep it floating. The last one is not a solution for me because, I have, in average, 20-30 markers per song, which I can't see at once at the bottom of the screen, unless I expand the multidock section, leaving few room for the track view. I used to had it (on previous SONAR versions) on the left side, leaving only visible the name of the marker (and not the measure, which is not interesting) I don't know if any of you has had the same problem, or at least, how do you use to work with markers in a fast an easy way with Skylight. Thanks in advance to everyone. Alberto

I use the marker view quite extensively. It's easy to edit them in the marker view and makes navigation easier. I know of no way to dock the Marker View anywhere except in the multidock. You would have to move the whole multidock to move the docked Marker View. Of course you could leave it undocked and use the X-Ray feature, thereby placing it anywhere you wish. Also the markers module in the control bar is useful as well. Have you tried using the markers module in the control bar ? I know it probably doesn't list near enough markers, it's just a quick function tool. Also the Marker View does scrolling when there are too many markers to show and some are off-screen. I just scroll down to where I need and go from there. . . Hope this helps }:?)=

It has the controls for going to a previous marker, going to the next one, inserting a marker, and the drop-down menu with all markers in a project. What you're wanting would call for a click to see your list - using the Control Bar menu for Markers also involves just one click. Couldn't that work for you? Randy B.

Individual views can't be docked. They need to be put into the MultiDock, which can then be positioned at the top, bottom, or floated. Scott -- Scott R. I had a feeling this kind of issue would come up. First I predicted that someone would ask for multiple multidocks, which they did. Next would be that EVERY view would function like a multidock and be able to be docked anywhere. Similar to Adobe products or even Vegas. I think Cake will want to look into it, as it gives the ultimate configurability to the workspace.

Thanks Randy, That's a good one That drop / down menu is new for me (my last version was Producer 7, and this feature wasn't there). Regading forward/backward markers button, not so useful. I map them in the left/right arrow keys for a really quick transport. Anyway I still loose one clic. When I had them in their own(always visible) window, I just had to clic on the marker, now I'll have to clic the dropdown button and after the, the marker. The problem is. If we (I mean, the users and the Cakewalk team) are supposed to be evolving and improving with the new versions, why going bakwards, even just one clic? Thanks, Alberto rbowser Alberto, I don't know of a way to dock Markers the way you want. But what works for me is to have the Markers menu included in the Control Bar at the top.
