Mackie Universal Control Pro unresponsive intermittently (when opening a project)

Hi all - I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum, so am reposting here.  Thanks.

Has anybody else had issues with the MCU being unresponsive intermittently?  I've experienced this with 8.5.3 and now with X1b.  The issue generally manifests itself when opening a project - sometimes it seems to take 5-10 seconds after a project has been opened (and after the faders have adjusted for the new project) to operate.

I'm running the MCU via USB and using the standard Win7 USB driver.   I've enabled MCU MIDI Inputs and Outputs within Sonar preferences under MIDI and selected which MIDI ports to use for the Mackie under control surfaces.  Anything else I need to configure?

Other specs are: Win7 x64, Sonar X1b x64, UAD1 pci, RME Fireface UFX running via Firewire with latest firmware and drivers.  I'm running the latest firmware on the Mackie (although it seems quite old).  Hardware is: Dell Precision T7400 - Dual quad core Xeon 3.2 Ghz, 8 Gig RAM and 3 hard drives.

Thanks!
Russ

yes, my mcu does the same thing.
i just spin the wheel a few times and  then all is well.

it works so nicely otherwise, i have not thought to bring it up.

is it really 5 to 10 seconds?

mine usually makes me wait a second or two if it happens at all.
if you have a furious work flow like me, it probably just feels like longer.

It varies - but 3-5 seconds sounds about right.  It also happens once in a (rare) while after a project's already been opened - it just stops responding.  Most times it comes back after a few seconds, but once in a blue moon, it doesn't.

I thought maybe I'd configured something incorrectly - (e.g. it was getting confused with my regular MIDI inputs / ouputs).

Same thing - it's a midi communication thingy that goes away.

FWIW the Alesis MasterControl sometimes does a similar thing. It's more like 3 seconds though.

Same solution, spin the wheel or move a slider or something.

    No biggie.

I've only had this happen when I load a project for the first time after starting Sonar. After doing the wheel-spinning thingy, it is fine for the rest of the session.

Out of interest, do any of you also have an XT and/or C4 and does it compound the delay?
