    Good Idea!

You'll actually be able to ask with a certain amount of confidence "Who do you think is the better looking out of us three guys"...

I always forget about John Hiatt.  I shouldn't, he's really good.

I managed to shock the heck out of my wife's crazy hippie aunt by citing my favourite Hiatt songs.  She figured my corporate, soulless self would have no respect for organic music... haha

I saw them last year together and it was a great show. They are both hilarious, in a dry, unassuming way. I'd pay to see them again. You'll enjoy it.

I've seen LL five times. Three of which were with JH. I've seen JH about eleven times three of which were entirely solo, It's no accident that I have two JH posters in my studio. I consider him to be my all time favorite singer-songwriter.

I love both of them too.  Tho I've never met Lyle, I have (pardon me for name dropping) spent an afternoon with John...although he certainly found me disdainful in the extreme...I think...it was during his "drinkies" period in Nashburg.  I was the musical director of Jesse Boyce, an aspiring singer and bass player who was working on John's "Warming Up To The Ice Age" album (among many other session dates).  He had invited me to Norbert Putnam's studio to sit in on the session (with the hopes of getting me some keyboard work...which did not materialize).  But I spent two hours or so sitting next to John and Norbert in the control room while Larry Londin (still one of my favorite drummers...sorry he's gone) cut drum tracks on a couple of tunes.  John was surly, uncommunicative and aloof.  Just as one might expect.  I had no clue who he was or what his talents were.  Years later, after I'd become a huge fan of his I found this particular album in the cutout bin and bought it for a couple of dollars.  Still enjoy it.  But not as much as I enjoy the memory.

This may...or may not...be the last time I relate this story.  It depends on how many people keep bringing John up in threads (and if I've had any martinis or not while reading them):-)

Well if I may namedrop too, I spent the afternoon with SteveStrummerUK and Jonbouy in London. Three days later (or was it four) I spent a couple more hours with Jonbouy again.

I believe Jonbouy said the second meeting was necessary for me to properly pay all transaction fees for the first meeting. Or summin' like that. But he was not surly (or Shirley either).

That sounds like a great show.  It may be a long-shot for me to get up there in June, but I'll give it some thought.
