Help with Guitar Rig 4 please?...and Superior Drummer feedback.

First of all to all the people that offered help to get my Superior Drummer working - it is now working.

It turned out that when I installed Sonar X1 it created two program file folders which confused the SD2 software and consequently didn't load.

I had to uninstall everything and reinstall all the X1 files to the same Program Files folder. Then it worked like a charm. Although I havn't got Ezy Player Pro working yet - my nect challenge.

As I am still very green to Sonar - can anyone tell me how I can use Guitar Rig presets to play my song while I record. People haev told me I need to record a dry track and apply the guitar rig effects after.  That won't work for me as I need to feel the vibe of the music while I play it to deliver a good performance.

Can someone talk me through the set-up?  Do I insert an Instrument track or something??

I am using a VS100 audio interface.

Cheers

    Insert an audio track.
Assign the track input to the channel you have your guitar pluged into.
Press the 'listen live' button so you can hear your guitar as you play it.
Drag GR4 from the efx browser onto the track,  (it will appear in the track efx box)
Select a preset in GR4 that sounds pleasing.
    Play.

just insert guitar rig 4 as an fx on your incoming guitar Audio track and make sure to turn on Input echo. that's the only way you'll hear guitar Rig sounds.

If you can get low enough latency with the VS100 this will work but you will still end up with a dry guitar recording as FX and the audio that is processed by synths has to be bounced after the fact to get it into SONAR as a recording.

do yourself a favor and do the various tutorials that are available by pressing F1 ro access the help file.
