Sonar X1 Quick fix (patch) available for Download *now*
Not X1 C but maybe better. It looks like Cakewalk are looking at quicker fixes instead of larger less frequent fixes. You can download the patch here

Yes. I like the idea of quicker fixes. Even if there are problems that arise from it at least the user can get those fixes quicker. Waiting months for a patch is too long IMO. I think this new approach from Cakewalk is much better.

I agree - quick fixes are great. Looks like a few more nagging issues have been fixed for some. I'm also pleased to see you can't get access without being a registered user, although someone is bound to leak this out eventually. I wish they would do this with every update/patch. Might not stop the problem, but could slow them down a little.

It is just a 10mb file as well AFAICT. So there should not be any issues with download speeds. It whizzed down here on my internet connection in seconds.

Could be Cakewalk want to try and stop people who have not bought the product from getting the patches. Just guessing here but the patches may work with a cracked version. Also maybe Cakewalk also want stop people posting on the forum about bugs with cracked versions. I am just guessing here again but it does seem like Cakewalk want to try and maximise their time talking to actual customers not follow complaints /threads from users of cracked versions of Sonar.

drumr Cool. But what's the serial number thing? I don't recall having to provide that with previous fixes! Just a little protection against thieves to slow them down. As I've said earlier, I'm glad they are doing this once again. They used to do this back in earlier versions of Sonar, then started giving the updates away without verification. Just enter in the email address your account is under, and the serial number of your X1 copy. You'll have instant access.

It might save Cakewalk a huge amount of time. Time they will want to spend with existing customers.

Folks, I just noticed, that when I downloded the "QuickFix" patch, I saw some other patches that I have yet to apply, chiefly, X1A 32 and 64 bit hotfixes. I applied 1A, and 1B, but not those hotfixes. Does anyone know if they are truly needed? And in what order do they get applied? As it stands right now, I have applied the 1A and 1B patches, and tonight will install the "Quick Fix". Where to the 32 and 64 bit hotfixes fit in? Thanks so very much in advance!

X1b includes the fixes in the X1a Hotfix. It is not necessary to install the X1a Hotfix. SONAR X1 => X1a => X1b => Quickfix I hope this helps!

The X1a Hotfix addressed an issue that some users were having in which ASIO drivers for certain audio interfaces were not showing in SONAR. I think X1b has the fix that the X1a Hotfix addressed. If you don't have one of those certain audio interfaces, you don't need the X1a Hotfix, anyway.

Folks, what sound cards were involved with the hotfixes? I have an EMU 404 PCI card, does anyone know if that was on the list of cards that needed the hotfix?

It doesn't matter what cards were addressed by the X1a Hotfix, anymore. Zyler just said that the issue addressed in the X1a Hotfix was fixed by the X1b update. Read post #13 above?

Yes as others have pointed out...no need to worry about that. Just follow Zylers suggestion... "SONAR X1 => X1a => X1b => Quickfix " 1. Install X1 (Likely have already) 2. Install the full X1a Patch 3. Install the full X1b Patch 4. Install the Quick fix

Hotfix, Quickfix, Patch, all this stuff sound confusing. What do users have to install to be up to date? X1=> Xb => & Quickfix? So we don't need to install X1a anymore since we have X1b ?
