Simple Question for the Techies (Patch SOLVED\Gr4 SOLVED) Thanks Everyone

I have just cleaned up after the months of Adjustments and Patch installs to the Computer. I completely uninstalled everything using Control Panel and Cleaning the registry files then doing a search for any remaiming files.

I only installed X1PE x64, X1ax64, X1bx64, MP3 Encoder and am going to do the QuickFix in a bit. All went well except for GR4 (No DimPro issues)

My question is-when downloading the X1a, X1b, and any other fixes, do we just "Run" them or do we have to "save" it to the system then run it?

Also if anyone remembers, when installing "Driver" for GR4 when installing Disk 1, which of the 3 Drivers do I load if just running GR4 in X1 only? Not sure if thats my problem with it-Never launches, just crashes with a mini-dump crash file. (Note-when going into Program Files and launching Controller Editor instead of GR4, I can bring that up, GR4 just crashes)

Computer Dell XPS Studio 8100
Win 7 Premium X 64
I7-870  2.93 Ghz  / 8 gb memory / 1.5 TB HD /
X1b X64 Only

Thanks in advance

In theory you could just "Run" it, but then if you need the installer again in the future you would need to download it again. You should save it to disk - then run it. That way you have it when needed.

    EDIT: I don't use GR4 so I can't comment on those questions.

Some of the files are in a compressed format. If you run them only they may not install. They should be run from an HD. Besides if you need to reinstall them its nice to have them on an HD.

Theses are files that are optimized for downloading and need to to expanded before installing/patching.

I always save to hard disk and burn files on another system. I then
inspect the data confirm its clean, and then install it to my Main.
this is the 1st time I made a data disk and it had to be load'd to the drive to runn ..  no matter...

were always building saving !! jon

Hmmmm  I wonder if X1b even installed earlier.  I just tried 3 times and it just sits there transfering nothing. I went through the link on the Quickfix to get to X1b and it finally took off downloading.  Quickfix is next.  Guess this proves your point on checking the files Star. LOL

OK, All Transfers went good. Quick fix took 24 seconds to load and install. Thanks a bunch once again.
Now I just have to figure out this dang GR4. Not sure if I can uninstall just GR4 and try and redo do that portion or if it will mess something else up. I use it and really want it but if I need to Ill buy a program similar so I have the Companies originals on Disk. The first time installed back in december-not a prob at all then.
