V-Studio Set-up for BEGINNERS

OK, so I'm the user that all of you forum gurus will be laughing at for a while. I just want to get that out up front!

I want to hook up my V-Studio 100 to my computer...
My computer specs:
Windows 7 64-bit
6gb of Ram

I went to the driver download page and there's a bunch of different versions of stuff...do I need to download each one or do I JUST download the most recent of each item?

Do I need V-Studio 100 1.5 Firmware?
Do I need V-Studio 100 64-bit drivers v2?

Is that all I need? (other than a brain that could actually understand this without needing outside assistance!!!)

Thank you in advance for your time and energy,

Chris

hello chris welcome to the forum.
nobody's gonna laugh at your questions, they're good and reasonable questions.
i hope i have an answer (the right one) for them.
those are the two updates that you need.
you do not need to install any other firmware update other than the current one (1.5) regardless of the one on your vstudio100.
since the 64 bit drivers (v2) require the 1.5 firmware update, i would suggest installing the firmware update first and then the new drivers (which kick arse btw.)

here's the link for the downloads:

good luck,

haaaaaaaaaaa !!!..ummm i just ordered the v-studio 20.what drivers do i download??..lol..welcome to the forum buddy..congrats on getting the vs 100..i could only afford the 20 so i envy you my friend..on a serious note..you ask a good question..as others may search this post and find it helpful at a later date.im guessing you only need the windows 7 64bit driver..but i could be wrong which would validate the question you asked was not stupid at all.again..congrats on the new awsome piece of hardware.let us know how good it is.
later man.
good luck

hey..how did you make out??
its a piece of cake..though i had to ask some questions myself.
your disk has the drivers on it to download.then half way through the down load just plug in the vs20..it gives all the directions right there...let me know if you have any problems il do what ever i can

Ok...so I'm obviously new to message boards too! Thx for replying so quickly M@! I thought I would get an email when someone replied to my post. I'm going to check the options on my account...

Anyway, I'm "kinda" up and running. I downloaded and installed the drivers/updates with the help from a friend. I can't get the audio to sound worth a crap unless I use the Template provided. For some reason, if I don't have a "Master Bus" created, when I direct the Audio output to 1/2 the signal sounds horrible.

I have so much learning to do...

Thanks again for your reply and I'm sure I'll be back with actual specific questions.

Thank you, Chuck! I'm plugging away at this. How's the V-studio 20 coming along for you?
