Which Win 7 version?
What's the most basic version of Win 7 for a DAW (64 bit)?
Thanks.

I'll go with the Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I would think this is the most basic version, without any enterprise tools/etc.
Edit :

Home Premium 64 would support up to 16GB memory, the max of most desktop motherboard (that I know).

Depends on how much memory you want available. Other than the memory limitations I don't know of any unique feature that would benefit a DAW. I purchased Professional 64 so that I would be free to upgrade as I see fit.

The most popular operating system from microsoft Windows 7, comes in a wide variety to suit the needs and budgets of the consumers. Even the Home copy of Windows 7 comes in basal and premium. It’s support for Aero, the glasslike user interface that was introduced with Windows Vista is only partial, while Home Premium users can take advantage of full Aero support.
