Can I move or copy the automation independently to another track just like FL studio?

I'v tried but automation data in instrument track never move to another track.

However it seems to be working in FL studio smoothly

I envy that feature. I want to make complex sound. Because I have to precisely use over ten parameter change at once!

But it's very uncomfortable to look at in just one track, all messed up

By the way is there a way to do this?

When you are in automation edit mode,

Select the automation by highlighting it using the bottom half of the clip, press CTRL+C

you'll then be given a popup asking what you want to copy,

check automation and uncheck eveything else (if you just want the automation)

Click on the track you want to put the copied automation on and press CTRL+V

    Automation on new track :)

Thanks man but I already tried that, and it ignores new track that is selected.
Whenever I try the way you told me, it automatically paste what I've copied to the original(instrument) track.
Do you get it? It ignores whatever tracks that I select and keep putting it to the original instrument track from which I copied the automation data!
    So...

In older versions of SONAR, when you paste, you get a pop-up asking you where do you want to paste (track #) and how many repetitions. Does this not happen in X1?
Or is there perhaps a global or per project setting for choosing target track options.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

Instead of Ctrl+V, press Ctrl+Alt+V to access Paste Special.

In the dialog box, make sure the Starting at Time and Starting Track parameters are correct. Choose the Blend Old and New option. And make sure Track/Bus Automation is chosen.

    That should work...

Thanks Kalle. I set up everything correctly. There is nothing wrong with Sonar X1, Copy dialogue box, paste dialogue box, those all appear just as normal.

and of course I put a check mark next to the Automation in the Copy dialogue box, and I also set the destination track to new track in the Paste dialogue box. but it keep happening, still it puts the automation data to where it was originally born

Ok just tried it as an Instrument track and I get where you're coming from,

If you split the instument track (via right click option) you can then do as described above and it will paste to the new track.

You can then re-make the intrument track again after by the right click option again.

Thanks Freex. I've found few things

I just tried copy the volume automation of the track and any other parameter that's common to all track.

    and it works perfectly

but still, I got the same problem with the Plug-in's Parameters

I think it's not available for the Plug-in's Parameter.

Anyway I appreciate all of you.  It's always good to know the limitation

It all paste for me in a like for like fashion, so Volume to volume, controler ## to controler ##

But you can't take volume and past it to a controler (to the best of my knowledge)
