simple, I think - ctrl + pg down and ctrl + page up
Is it possible to have these commands move the cursor by a beat, a frame, or a millisecond instead of by a whole measure?

not sure I follow - when I try shift + control + up/down, it resizes the currently higlighted track. I'm hoping to find a way to move the cursor by 1 frame instead of 1 measure with some kind of key command. Thought that in 8.5, there was a way to tell Sonar to move by different units than measures with the ctrl+pg up/pg down key binding. am I mistaken? Thanks! -Alex

Anyone out there? I really thought this was a simple fix, just can't find a way to switch it!

hit P for preferences, select the 'advanced' radio button at the bottom, and then look for the Key Bindings tab. You can bind or unbind whatever you like to your heart's content. Haven't tried your specific issue but there are a lot of bindable actions in there...

Anyone else have an idea on this? I'm looking to be able to control sonar frame by frame by using the keyboard. Seems like it would be a super simple thing but can't seem to find a way!

nooo! don't tell me that :(. Extremely disappointing, but thanks for the info. Am I mistaken that this used to be possible? Could have sworn this was a feature in 8.5 -Alex

I was going to say this is real easy but then I realised all my navigating is done via a CS, where you can change the navigation resolution but it doesn't seem possible from a qwerty keyboard.

I wonder if there might be some "out of the box" way to do this. Any ideas? Jeez, this is super super disappointing. And I should say - [edit] I'd expect any program with "pro audio" editing abilities to be able to do this. It seems super basic, right? moving the cursor over just by 1 frame, to line something up for an audio edit. Am I crazy?

You're not crazy, it is super basic, and Sonar can't do it. The closest it can come is the video view which will frame step with the arrow keys. Please log a feature request. The more of us who do, the more likely they'll implement it.

I am using a Griffin Powermate as a scrubber and CTRL-PgUp for one direction and CTRL-PgDn for the other direction. I would love to go by ticks or something smaller than measures too. The Mackie Control setup has an option for it's scrubber to do measures ticks or samples but I don't know how to do it with keyboard commands so I can pull off the similar with the cool joe powermate. Somebody help us!

Seriously, I will be putting in a feature request for this. Seems like a dead-simple feature to implement (but what do I know!) -Alex
