Change Softsynth

Ok... This seems so simple but, I can't find it anywhere. How do you change the current instrument in an softsynth track? Say from Rapture to Dim Pro?

It was all so different, before everything changed...

If you already have Rapture open and want Dim Pro.......Insert>Softsynth>Dim Pro
Then change the output of your MIDI track from Rapture to Dim Pro. (If I'm understanding your question correctly).

If you want both softsynths, you'll need to insert a seperate MIDI track for Dim Pro.

    Thanks Mesh!

Yes you understood. I want to clone a track and then change the synth. This works.  Insert the synth without creating a track and assign the output of the cloned track to the new synth. I was looking for a "Swap Instrument" or "Replace Synth" in a menu... oh, well.

    Thanks again.

Unfortunately, SONAR doesn't include a "swap instrument" or "replace synth" feature. Hopefully in a future version.

Yeah this was a big item people wanted after P5 was discontinued. I can understand it didn't make it into X1 because of what they already had cooking, but it seems like a pretty trivial thing to add...
