Uninstall previous versions

Hi all

I upgraded to 8.5 from 7 and subsequently to X1 Producer when it was released. I now have all three versions installed. Can someone let me know if I can uninstall the previous versions? I'm not worried about space on my HDD, I have plenty of room. I'd just like to tidy things up.

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Edit: I should note that I bought the disks for X1 but original install was from the download.

If you have projects made in those earlier vcersions I'd update them by opening them in X1 and resaving making sure that all included plugins are still available.

If you uninstall previous version make sure that folders labelled as "Shared xxxxxxx" in the Program Files\Cakewalk\     path remain. The X1 installation will have overwritten some of the files previously existing in those folders so its important to make sure they don't get uninstalled.

Just be sure to save an image of your hard disk so you can go back in tiome just in case it all goes pear shaped.

it should really be a matter of using the Windows uninstaller and all should be OK.

Be careful because if you uninstall previous versions, you'll lose some of the plugins that no longer ship with Sonar X1.  Since diskspace isn't a premium anymore (1 TByte hard drives are cheap now), I would recommend keeping previous versions.

Just my opinion though!

As long as you still have the disks for the older versions you should be able to a custom install if you do lose a old plug in.

Thanks guys I appreciate the help. Now that I'm aware of the possible issues I'll think about it a bit longer.

Cheers
