Upgrade ? Please Help ASAP

I Just purchased the X1 download upgraded from 8.5 producer, I would love a clean install, can I uninstall 8.5 completeley and restart fresh with X1 even though it is a download upgrade?

Yes you can. You do not need any other version on your HD with X1 for installing. This is the same for the upgrade or the full product because they are the same.

You do not need 8.5 installed on your system to install your X1 upgrade.

I installed overtop of 8.5 here, didn't seem to cause any trouble in either app, they both run fine. Others have evidently had different results than this however. Certainly X1 is a standalone install, so if you are positive you don't want 8.5 as a backup while making the transition, go for it... with the caveat that no uninstall of a program as complex as SONAR is likely to be fully clean - there will be things left over in hidden places... so personally unless you're doing a clean Windows install or buying a new computer, I don't really see the advantage of uninstalling 8.5 first. But that's just my take. There are folks more knowledgeable about such things than me around.
