Interface Stops Communicating

I'm using a Focusrite Saffire 6 with X1 Producer.  After a random amount of time goes by, the interface stops communicating with Sonar and I have to unplug/replug to make it work again.  If anyone knows the remedy for this, I'd appreciate it.  I've tried several different USB ports on my PC, but to no avail.

    is that the firewire model?  other users have reported the same thing but I have not seen a solution.

    I have a Saffire that is firewire. It likes to take breaks every now and then. Most of the time..... I kill all power to it, and restart the DAW platform. A computer reboot is not needed.

    I have not found a solution other than what I am currently doing. It doesn't happen often, so it's not too big of a deal.
