Key Bindings Menu not showing X1 Default key assignments
Has this been discussed? "Search" didn't show anything, of course. For example: Press 'a' and the 'audiosnap' dialog pops up. But when I do a 'Locate Key' search, it doesn't show it as being an assigned combination. Nor does it show it under any of the "Bind Context" menus under. So: how do I now what's bound or not without having to search through all of the shortcuts in the manual? Even more: how do I even know what is already assigned without cross-checking in the manual? It does show ones I've made, but not ones that are currently defaulted in X1...so I have no idea what menu items have key assignments. It also does show the assignments when I import the Legacy assignments...but never for the X1 defaults. Weird.

I would also prefer that it show the default bindings. I posted about this right away with X1A and didn't get much forum response/interest. Of course, I am aware of the great charts that people have created (I have one printed out), but having them listed in preferences would be very valuable. For the life of me, I can't remember if the default bindings were listed or not in previous versions.

They are listed in 8.5.3. So this is just a weird and annoying quirk.

This is a good point! It does make customizing key bindings unnecessarily difficult when you can't see what's already there. It's odd that some functions show up (copy, paste, play/stop, etc) but others don't. It should be noted, though, that previous versions also suffered from this. For example, in 8.5, Shift-A should open audiosnap, but it doesn't show up as assigned in the key bindings dialog there, either. EDIT: I was wrong, they do show up in 8.5. Not sure why I didn't see them at first...

When I've been working on key bindings in X1 I noticed they weren't there, and thought "there is one more hidden menu item I haven't found", and moved on. Now that it's clear that it isn't there. A big +1 from me.

+1 here too. I guess I'll have to find the afore mentioned charts. I really like that they add custom key bindings to the associated menu commands, but once again, some of the default ones are not there. These are a few I noticed missing from the Key Bindings preference page: K, N, S. I noticed these right away since I used to use Q & N in 8.5, but now they are different in X1.
So long and thanks for all the fish, Shang

I agree. Noticed this right away but could not figure out why cake wanted to do this. I would also like to see default bindings. I used to use it for reference. I know they had it in 8.5.3. Used it all the time.
