Rock Pop Tune - Rockstarin'

Track just managed to wrap up in the last few days. A pop rock tune telling a story of a no good kid  becoming a rockstar.

Take a listen and all comments welcome.

always a pleasure to hear a new tune of yours, as someone who really can sing! yep, a bit quirky in both composition and instrumentation, which is cool! only thing i really think doesn't work is the ultra-fuzzy guitar, it just sounds out of placce here. need to find a smoother sound.

otherwise, mix is very good, maybe BV could be a tad higher.

Thanks for compliment mgh. yea I was a little iffy on that myself, its actually an effect on an acoustic guitar for some strange reason my electric guitars just seemed out of tune all the time!

Glad you liked the mix too, first time Ive actually mixed on monitors rather than headphones!

That intro was total ABBA, Cian.

Vocals sound real strong, with some grit.

This has some real britpop cheese to it. Could see any number of pop artists doing this.

Now that you got your Rokits, get the matching sub. You have no idea how much it will add to your mixing.

Thanks for posting this song Cian.

I'd clean up the guitar tone. Maybe change the "flute(?)" sound to something grittier.

    Thanks Scotty tunes.

Yea have though about that James, they fairly pricey too.

Cheers for listen. I presume it is the strings your are referring to at the end of the final verse, what would you suggest, maybe a lead guitar playing something?

This is great tune Cian. quirky and fun. Take away the music and ignoring the tone of your voice which I really like the phrasing sounds almost like Madonnas in borderline. Very cool song.

    Cian,

Really good song, story, performance and mix.   Your vocals remind me of the style and tone of one of my all time favorite singers (Robin Zander of Cheap Trick).   Nice work.
