Panning on a bus stopped working - [SOLVED]

So I have a choir with 17 vocal tracks

I buessed the male singings to one bus for an eq and fx;s

I bus the females to another bus for eq and fx's

then I bus all that to an "ALL" vox eq

the male and female bus stopped being able to pan - you can move the pan control but nothing happenes visually or aurally

ok

so I deleted the male and female vox bus - and made new male and female bus.. and got the pan back - it worked

ok great solved?

then magically after 10 minutes of use or so -

it stopped working -- AGAIN

no the male and female bus have no pan again

any suggestions?

The "all vox" bus is a stereo bus, right? :)
