Can't help if we don't know what's going on. You have to give us details on what your trying to do.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

The use of soft synths/VSTs is clearly explained in the SONAR help files, I'm sure. Also Addictive Drums has a very clear and well written manual.

Go through them with concentration and then ask for more info if there's something specific you don't understand.

And, like others mentioned, if you ask a question you really need to attach your gear specs and also info about what you have done this far.

Your question is a typical example of one that really doesn't attract anyone to answer.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Install addictive drums. Next open X1, go to utilities > plugin manager > scan plugins. First you may have to add the path to the folder where AD is installed. Then scan. Open browser > add synth > browse to AD double click, A dialogue will then open asking what you want to do for simplicity click simple instrument track and you should be good to go. HTH
