Good one, Mike - I don't know why that isn't just a common-sense thing for more people.  This thread could help bring the point up to people who haven't thought about it before.

Here's a similar thing, something like what Charlie posted - There'll be an issue, people are trying to help, then the OP comes back and says "Hey, I figured it out"--- and doesn't bother to say what the solution was.   Once in awhile I'll add a post, "That's great you figured it out.  Could you please post what the solution was so it can help other people who notice the subject of the thread?"---but I can't recall that ever yielding a follow up.  Oh well!

There are "hit and run" posters who run into a Forum needing and demanding an answer immediately, because, as the scenario often goes, "I have clients expecting a finished product in two hours!!!  I gotta learn how to use Sonar like right noW!!!" ( I love how many people who have "clients" seem to not know their software very well - uh-huh--"client" as in a girlfriend who wants a recording of herself singing)-- They'll get the info they need, and then they're out of the forum again, sometimes not saying thanks, often not editing their subject lines, and usually not posting info on the solution.

    Great points Mike and Randy!

Also, I wish they would at least post basic system specs (version of SONAR X1.x, operating system 32/64bit, CPU Model and speed, graphics card, amount of RAM and speed, how many HDDs and speed, and audio interface and drivers used ASIO/WDM). That would better help us to help them. :)

But that may be asking a bit too much. :)

randy how true you are..theres only one thing that bothers me more..and i can understand some of it due to x1 having some bugs..but ive seen more than once an op post something like-"broken mp3 player"..so come to find out the op doesnt know you need to pay for the liecence after 30 days is up.
so the thread is left unchanged so the next time some sorry s.o.b is having a problem with his mp3 player hes got to sift through threads like that.

    Absolutely,
It would be nice if all that could be added to Individuals Profiles, make it a required field input and have it automatically added to postings for those that dont understand why or just simply dont know or forget to add it when seeking help. Alot of time is lost trying to help someone just trying to get the correct basic info down first.

Another idea would be CW posting automatically generated messages frequently in the forums where help is generally sought as an info type message with that exact same thing in mind as far as adding specs when seeking help.

It does get a little old when you are trying to help and you didnt notice the post you just happen to jump in on is a year old not realizing it and the prob is long since been rectified or abandoned.

Ya know actually just looking at this Forum, A great Place to add a (Solved) Reminder Message would be in the Gray Bar/Area Just under the CW Sticky's/Just above the first users posting
