re activation

Hi,
Well I went a head and bought X1. We find it generally ok but getting a MIDI sound out of it is a right PITA to setup!

However I have a problem: I shall very soon need to run a full recovery on the W7/64 pc it is installed on, what steps should I take prior to the process to facilitate a painless re activation of X1 please?

Dave.

have serial number and activation/registration code handy. They should be available in your account on the Cakewalk website if you didn't keep a record of them yourself.

As far as getting a MIDI sound out of SONAR I can highly recommend doing the tutorials available through the Help file. Inserting Softsynths and or learning about MIDI are among the many good resources in the help file.

You can always come to the forum to ask specific questions.

I am not sure what you mean with "recovery", but if it is a roll-back before Sonar was installed, you can just install Sonar and use the serial number, and the product registration code you got by mail when you registered your Sonar. You also can find your registration code at the store part of the website. There is a section that gives all your registered products, their serial number and their registration code.

The same applies when you are re-installing Windows 7 and must install Sonar again.

If you roll-back to a time Sonar was installed but not just activated, you only have to enter the registration code at startup (or at the help->registration menu).

I must stop reacting - every time when I am typing an answer someone else gives a full answer before I am even finished typing... :-)
