Sample Logic TryPack

I was surfing around the net, checking out free stuff because what I am supposed to be doing today is boooring. I stumbled onto this. It's a free sampler of samples from three of Sample Logic's products: AIR, Elements and Synergy.

Not a new offering, it's been around for a couple of years. But what a great freebie! 60 Kontakt instruments (compatible with K2, K3 or K4), all interesting and high-quality. There is no way I could afford the actual products (over a grand for all three of them), but I'll find uses for this TryPack sampler anyhow. Recommended, especially for those of you doing electronic and ambient stuff.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Looks cool ... thanks for the tip! Hope they work in the Kontact player.

Just downloaded it and the ReadMe says that it doesn't work with the Kontact player -- needs a full version. I guess I'll just hang on to it and maybe NI will have another summer sale.

Its pretty much safe to assume that any thing free or very low cost will not work in the Kontakt player. Developers have to pay NI to have their products work in the player, and you have authorise them in service centre before they run. So no ones going to be giving it away.

That said occasionally you may find a bargain, (for me it was a Steven Slate EX no brainer deal) that will run in the player. This was a particularly good deal as it entitled me to crossgrade to the full version Kontakt.

Thanks for the explanation ... I didn't realize how that works. And I'll keep an eye open for crossgrade opportunities -- good tip!

Definitely excellent sounds, particularly if you're doing moody ambient, or dark electronica or soundtracking/soundscaping.

I have Synergy and Elements, and they make their way into every track now, and even randomly in some home movies I'm trying to liven up with a quickly crafted Kontakt multi-loop.
They are a bit pricy, though.
I don't regret buying them, but did so a couple of years ago before, well, now.
However, I use them, which is more than I can say for many other things I've had over the years.

I actually got them on ebay from one of the reputable software dealers there (and believe or not, there are a few... you'll know them by their join dates of many years ago and flawless feedback, more or less). It shaved about $150 off the cost of the two I purchased at the time.

    Take care,
