Crash -- Help Needed

I posted this in the wrong place, so here goes again.
http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?high=&m=2281256&mpage=1

So, I have been working on this project for a month now... just added session drummer 3 to the project, and it will crash X1 (on playback first time after saving, and on project load every time after). Would love to open the project, or at least roll that change back. This is just absurd that a Roland VST crashes Roland software. I got an exception c000005 the first time, but haven't gotten it after that ever... simply a crash. Any ideas would be nice, thanks.

"The following tracks and buses are currently assigned to a silent hardware output. The items listed below will be silent in your project until their outputs are reassigned to an appropriate hardware output." Lists every track and bus. I click OK, then the project appears to load... then crashes immediately. This is the case for both ASIO and WDM modes.

I have rebooted my computer, still no fix. Re-installed X1 and patches, no fix. Opened file in safe-mode, still crashed. Set X1 in compatibility mode, still crashes, but it gave me a dump this time. http://www.filedropper.co...orphosis04122011010557

Here is the Win7 crash report.

So I take it you didn't save a backup file before you inserted Session Drummer? Can you just load the project before you inserted it, and start from there?

I've learned that the hardway as well. Now I always save-as when doing any major changes.

    Hi Allen, Sorry to hear.

Can you give us the specifics on your computer (Processor/Mem/Ram/HDD/Soundcards, etc...), the Interface being used,

If you forget to turn on your interface before launching X1, you will get this fault.

Look forward to hearing from you on your spec to try and help

I wish I had the HD space to actually do that. Definitely going to try to invest in a larger one as soon as I can. If I could just load the previous file, this wouldn't be much of a big deal... just frustrating mostly, but alas. At least, worst case, everything that wasn't midi is stored in the audio folder :-\

    Hello, me too.
    Asus P5QPL-AM Mobo
    Intel 2 Duo 2.93 GHz
    4GB DDR2 Ram
    150GB NTFS HD
    Windows 7 32bit

I am running everything onboard, since this machine can handle it... and Im too lazy to actually tear the computer open to put my interface in it... maybe if I record more than one track at a time. Honestly, I have had great luck with X1, this is the first real problem. If I ever use a midi interface, it is an M-Audio USB interface.

    Thanks!

I had this exact same fault on my system but I think it was back sometime ago. I dont think it was X1 related though.  Unfortunately I cant find my post on what all I tried.
How full is your HDD?  I assume by now you have done a few of the recommended disables on the WLAN card, Antivirus and all that kind of stuff? You have went to you computers/MOBO site and updated the drivers there for MOBO and video?

Kk, my HDD has 50GB remaining for scratch space *mostly*. And there is no WLAN. Just for grins, I disabled LAN and removed a bunch of random drivers. I actually have no antivirus software, but did a scan with some, came out clean. Updated all drivers as well, sadly installed some bloatware with the audio drivers. Still crashes. What gets me is that it just randomly happened... I wish the error reports were more exact, because a stack is rather vague.

Ive heard that once the HDD get past the 50% mark of being full, it really taxes the systems operation.
As for this just coming up out of nowhere-mine did also.  I recall after my first initial crash, it just got to the point that X1 wouldnt even launch. I want to say what helped most was what CW recommended disabling in the BIOS settings for Win7/64Bit.

Im still trying to figure out how to get my posting info on this-If I even can to see what I did.
Maybe someone with more experience can chime. Ill continue to search and if I find it Ill let ya know what I did.

I found this on another thread.

"I've had crashed, so has my friend. Nothing major and no real complaints. Other than trying to insert my track template for my finished drums (many bus' and FX) it will usually crash the project I'm in. (I freeze some tracks and it usually works so no biggy really) "

I am fairly certain this whole thing stemmed from that sort of issue. I put my nice drum template in, then saved the project (resulting in the first crash)... and every crash after that. And what is messed up is that it is only that one project that is having the issues.

Today, I forced 32bit in bios. Cleared the picture cache. Suppressed the silent bus warning. Re-installed audio drivers. Opened X1 in safe-mode. Same issue. Haha.

Okay, I am sure that that project is toast... never gonna work again (thats how it seems). My goal now is preventing this from ever happening again, at the least. What would cause a track template to kill a project that well... when it was extracted from a working project to begin with?

I know this is a year later... but I've discovered this thread while searching for a reason a project of mine crashes SONAR when I open it. Session Drummer 3 x64 is the culprit. I get the same windows crash messages from above.  I, however, found a way to open the offending project.  I created a new project first and loaded an instance of Session Drummer 3 into it.  Then, leaving it open, I open the offending project and everything including Session drummer loads... BUT this is the ONLY way I can open this file. I'm going to search farther.

My system specs should be in my sig, but if they're not, this is a new Windows 7 Home Premium machine with an Intel i7 processor and 8 gigs of ram.

I have had a similar problem as well. Did you solve yours? I think that my issue stems from the unplugging of my audio interface at the wrong time (a usb UA-25ex. I swap it between two laptops that sit next to each other). My problem is that once the file says that the master is routed to silent output I can't fix it. That's what I think is causing it anyway. My newest song project is working but I am so worried that it will somehow have the same fate as my last ones... Ciao.
