Hello, Psyched and slightly nervous. Somewhat of a Lurker, so thrash me lightly.
I took the plunge. Got X1 Producer and a system beefy enough to work with in 64 bit. Still can't register Dimension Pro even when doing it as an administrator. Have been trying to read up a lot of threads. Sent in my email for help... no word, I keep getting prompted to register it and I really would like to seeing at it is one of my most used instruments. Everything else is sweet. Love the workflow so far. Now if I can just figure out how to keep my MPK25 alive. I hate rebooting. Somehow my usb is going to sleep from time to time. Is there any word on if USB3 is going to have an impact on MIDI controlling? I got it, would love to see some retro-fit firmwares to go faster and bigger. I have to carry the tower to where I can get internet. So this is somewhat frustrating that I have to undock and go try again and fail. Thanks in advance.

try disabling UAC then rebooting your machine before registering dimpro. that might work. there should be no impact on MIDI controlling due to USB 3. MIDI is very low bandwidth - 31.25K.

Now if I can just figure out how to keep my MPK25 alive. I hate rebooting. Somehow my usb is going to sleep from time to time. As has been mentioned... It sounds like Windows power-management is shutting down the USB port/s (to save energy). This can be disable...

I can look later (late for the doctor) but try control panel> power> powerschemes> maybe advanced? in any case set your computer for "best performance" and "always on". I think Chucky has it right. You can probably find what you need by searching for "Windows 7 tweaks" on google, also google "keep USB turned on" or "keep USB from sleeping". something.... you'll find it. Julien

'Selective Suspend'... I know a few people who seem to have that option enabled. That would explain how their mouths can continue talking long after their brains have gone to sleep...
