This might help somebody trying to find their VST's with MC5/MC4
First : I have tweaked my computer and restored it probably 100 times in the last 2 years. I'm done with that, it was mostly to learn about a few things, not because of viruses or nothing like that, I just liked working on the stuff when I'm bored from time to time.
Anyway, I noticed even with a factory disc install a strange thing that happened when reinstalling Music Creator 5, not sure why this happened but this information could be useful to others, maybe even those installing MC5 for the first time.
What would happen was the first time I installed MC5 it recognized all the VST's that came with the program when I loaded up MC5.
After a few re-installs from my computer work I noticed a few of the VST's not showing up in MC5 when I loaded it, the reason why was for some reason they were moved to the folder on my hard drive - C:/programfiles/VST Plugins/ instead of being installed in one of the C:/cakewalk directories.
I don't know why this happened.
Keep in mind, I was reinstalling the program on "THE SAME PC" not any other PC, it wasn't a system restore it was a full reinstall from factory disc.
Also I should mention that I'm done with tweaking and configuring my PC to it's optimum performance level, no more of that. It's time to get a new PC soon, now if I could just tweak my money situation to afford a new one!
Just remember that if all your VST's don't show up in MC5 or MC4, be sure to add the directory C:/programfiles/vst plugins/ to your VST search. That is if your primary hard drive is labelled C, if not look on the hard drive where you installed MC4/5 and look in program files for the vst plugins directory and add it to your search in the music creator program.
Not sure why or how this happened, but I have saw others post on here asking where Sound Center Was or Studio Instrument Drums 1 and such. Chances are that's where they are.
Hope this help someone.
